My name is David Batty, I am a freelance software developer, qualified teacher, course designer, trainer and digital content developer. I have been working full time with computers for 41 years… and am still loving it.

As well as being a very successful software developer I have been delivering computer training in schools, colleges and businesses for 32 years. I deliver courses for  CodeCollege.co.uk, I also deliver training for the AQA, OCR, and other organisations as required.

My weekly activities may include some combinations of the following:

Programming, delivering computer training, creating online courses, games design, writing data processing programs, working in Second Life virtual world, video production and editing, writing Amazon Alexa applications,  technical reviewing of computer books, or some other computer related activities.

In 2018 I was a JCQ / OCR Computer Science Inspector, visiting schools to inspect exam work and procedures in computer science departments. Currently I am a Computer Science Ambassador for OCR, delivering teacher CPD on the new changes to computer science content & procedures, and delivering webinars for teachers who are new to J277 Computer Science, or who are transitioning from J276.

I am a fully licenced Amateur Radio operator with an Advanced Licence and 43 years of radio use behind me. I am also a registered Assessor for the Radio Society of Great Britain.
